Purpose:

For visual or photographic control and temperature measuring in the cases when it is impossible or unsuitable to use traditional thermometric sensors.
Termoindication is based on the irreversible colour changing, of the applied thermoindicator coating  under strictly definite temperature (temperature of transition) as a result of changing the phase state (melting) of the chemical compounds forming the termoindicator composition.

Characteristics:

TIMs represent high dispersed suspensions of thermosensitive substances based on inorganic or organic chemical compounds and binders in organic solvents.
Thermocoatings based on TIM have white colour. When they response (melt), the investigated surface uncovers.
TIMs can additionally contain pigments-fillers (pigmented TIMs) or dyers (coloured TIMs) . Protective films are delivered separately.

Application:

Termoindicators of TIM types can be used and in almost all the cases of productional and researching practice. For example, for temperature control of artillery ammunition, when storing and transportation; for controlling the temperature of brakes or locomotive transmission gear box; for controlling the temperature testing of hot points in counters; temperature control at food product sterilizing; in medical equipment; when drying growns. They are also used for watching the thermal regime of inside and outside surface with complex configuration; rotating parts; current carrying parts in energetic; electronics; cosmic technics; ship building, in machine building, metallurgical, electrotechnic and other industries.
The same thermoindicator modification in the temperature range of 30-400o C can be used both at atmospheric pressure and in vacuum. When operating in vacuum the use of film is obligatory for a series of thermoindicators.

Advantages:

The method of temperature measuring by means of TIMs is simple, effective, with small laboriousness and gives the possibility to get operatively the full enough  information about the thermal conditions of constructions, sets and unit in the wide temperature range
TIP is characterized by good adhesion to different metals, hermetics, ceramics and other constructional materials.
When melting the  pigmented TIMs are held out in the build of centrifugal forces and under action of powerful gas flows.
Coloured and pigmented TIMs provide an increased contrast of colour transition and are recommended for controlling and measuring the temperature of the object heated surfaces made of any constructional materials including white ceramics.
The TIMs coated with a protective film can be used in the conditions of aggressive media action (for example, the products of oils and fuels burning), at atmospheric conditions (rain, snow, fog including sea ones)
TIMs allows to determine the temperature gradient on the whole controlled surface the fixation of temperature fields determined by TIMs can be conducted by means of both coloured and black-and-white photography.
TIMs not only allow to control the maximum object temperature but when provided the coating of a number of thermoindicators as lines, studied as arithmetical mean between the last thermoindicator mark, which does not change the colour.

 

TIMs are manufactured by the Technical certificate (ТУ) 2638-002-48591565-2000 «Thermoindicators of meeting, highsensitive» of the following modifications.

In TIM marking the digit index means an orientation temperature of coloured transition( the temperature of melting). The exact temperature is shown in the passport.
Increased humidity, sun radiation, temperature gradients (drop) do not influence the accuracy of TIMs readings (their measuring error is only ± 1%)
The temperature of melting for all types of thermoindicators do not depond on the time of a preliminary heating and heating rate.

Thermoindicator coating with a protective film endures different climate conditions: that is, increased humidity up to 98% at the temperature of 50oC; water action; temperature cyclic variations from -60o to +25oC. It is stable to the influence of aggressive media, oils, fuels and soon

Delivery: delivery of TIMs with required assortment and volume is realized according to orders. When ordering you should point out whether the TIMs ordered are coloured, pigmented or uncoloured and also the conditions of their use: if it will be used under atmospheric pressure, in vacuum, in aggressive media and so on.

Perspective: the assortment of the produced TIMs may be expanded at the expense of increasing temperature interval response.
